Privacy Policy
We don’t store anything you type. Ever. No accounts, no saved messages, no logs of what brought you here. The rest of this page just explains the details.
What we don’t collect
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, so there is no email, name, or password to store.
- Nothing you type leaves your device. The site has no forms that save to a server. Tools like Calm Now run entirely in your browser; your answer to the safety question is kept only in your browser’s temporary session memory and disappears when you close the tab.
- No precise location. We never ask for or infer your exact location. The hotline page asks you to pick your country manually for exactly this reason.
What we do collect
We use Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode v2 to learn which pages help people most. By default — before you do anything — no cookies are set. We only collect anonymous, cookieless aggregate data (page views, approximate region, how you arrived). If you click “Accept” on the cookie banner, a standard _ga cookie is set to distinguish new from returning visitors. You can decline at any time — declined visits still produce anonymous aggregate counts, but no cookie is ever placed on your device.
These promises hold either way: anything you type, which comfort message you saw, and how you answered the safety question will never be sent to anyone. The breathing tool runs entirely in your browser, and analytics never sees its content — only that the page was visited.
Cookies
By default, this site sets no cookies — that’s why you see a consent banner rather than silent tracking. If you accept, the only cookie set is Google Analytics’ _ga cookie (2-year lifespan, first-party, used solely to tell new visitors from returning ones). Your consent choice itself is also stored in your browser’s localStorage so we don’t ask twice.
Your browser’s session storage is used for one additional thing: remembering, until you close the tab, that you already answered the safety check so we don’t ask twice. No other cookies or storage are used.
Links to other sites
Some pages here link to outside organizations — like the helplines on our resources page. Those sites are run independently, and this policy only covers what happens on yellingatme.com.
